Terms of trade
VanMan maintains procedures to provide a reliable, careful & efficient transport service. We strive to be accountable and to deliver fair value in line with our terms of trade.
Our fees are based on the service time (logged from our arrival to our departure) plus travel time (declared at booking). Costs reasonably incurred in the delivery of the service will be passed on. Other charges may apply by agreement.
Our understanding of load size, access to properties and scope of work will be used with other information provided by you to inform the service options we offer in good faith. Agreed service options, staffing and scheduling decisions may be used to estimate the service duration and extrapolate an estimated cost. Our services are however provided on agreed hourly rates and will be charged on the actual time taken to complete the work we agree to undertake. VanMan reserves the right to manage its resources to address un-advised and un-foreseen pressures and events to affect the safe and timely completion of its services WITHOUT THE APPLICATION OF FAULT and to invoice accordingly.
Full payment is due on completion of the service IMMEDIATELY and WITHOUT DEDUCTION. Payments may be made online to 06 0217 0865013 00.
A $25 administration fee will be applied at 14 days. A $100 default fee will be applied at 30 days. Debt management fees and collection costs will be passed on to you.
The person contracting the service will remain liable for the payment of fees and costs incurred in the provision of our service and debt recovery where the service is arranged for another person, company or legal entity should they be in default.
You have an obligation to ensure that:
- The full scope of work including the load size and any access difficulties are advised and accurately described.
- your goods are packed, ready for loading and fit to be carried.
Inadequately protected artwork, ornaments, glass including picture glass, glass shelving, and glass table tops, TVs and other unprotected fragile or valuable items are items not fit to be carried. If you choose to supply goods that are not fit to be carried, VanMan will take due care of them but we will not be liable for accidental damage to them.
VanMan will not be liable for damage to access ways including but not limited to driveways & underground services.
VanMan will not carry goods likely to foul or damage our vehicles or goods and substances deemed dangerous by land transport authorities including paint, gas bottles, fuel containers, chemicals and ammunition.
Your goods will be carried at owner’s risk. This means that the carrier will pay no compensation if the goods are lost or damaged, unless we intentionally lose or damage them.
VanMan has Comprehensive Motor Vehicle and General Liability Insurance. Liabilities we assume in the provision of our services are limited to the cover provided by these insurance policies. A claim must be made within 7 days. A fee of $250 is payable when a claim is made for loss or damage.
If your risk needs are not met by this agreement, please arrange Transit Insurance with your insurance provider or purchase EziMove on line.
COVID – 19 Update
As a nonessential service, VanMan’s services are suspended for the duration of the COVID-19 / Corona Virus “lock down.”
We hope things normalise at the end of April, but this not certain. We will start scheduling work again when a firm date has been advised.
If your booking with us was disrupted by the lock down we will prioritise your requirements.

Your location, load size, property access and your level of preparation will all effect the cost of your move.
The more we know about your move and your moving day pressures the more confidently we can cost and manage your move. Use our online enquiry form to tell us about your move and how you would like us to assist.
If you’re moving your family home within Wellington, from Wellington to another centre or into storage, we’d like to visit you, discuss your needs and preferences and provide you with a considered cost estimate.
If your move is smaller or out of storage, a phone call will probably be enough to get it estimated and booked. Call 0800 826 626.
